Chapter 11

Noelle

I’m really doing this. Every tremor of fear racing through my body is chased by a shot of anticipation. Grant did something incredible for me tonight—he orchestrated a risky situation to give me an experience I feel that I missed out on. Luckily, it was fake, because I’m not sure I could live through that type of fear again without losing a few years of my life from the spike in my blood pressure.

But it was the thought, the time, the energy he dedicated to me and my desires that has me wanting to fulfill the physical ones with him, too. And even though I’m vibrating from my nerves, I know that I want this more than my next breath.

As soon as we pull into my driveway, I feel my adrenaline spike. Grant hops down from the truck, strides purposefully to my side to open my door for me, and then takes me by the hand so I can hop down as well.

It takes me a few minutes to find my keys because my hands are so shaky. Grant smoothes his hands over my shoulders, kissing my exposed skin at my collar and up the column of my neck from behind me as I struggle to put the key in the lock.

“Relax, sweetheart.” Another pass of his lips behind my ear. “I’m not going anywhere.”

“I’m just nervous.”

“I am, too, if that makes you feel any better.”

Spinning around once I get the door open, I stare up into his blue eyes, eyes that look darker as the blackness of night surrounds us on my porch. “Why are you nervous?”

Grant sighs, brushing my hair from my face. “Because I want this to be good for you. I want to make you feel good, but I’m afraid I might lose control. It’s been a while for me, too, Noelle. And I want this night to be perfect for both of us.”

Throwing caution to the wind, I rise up on my toes and wrap my arms around his neck. “It already has been . . . so let’s make it stellar.”

Grant growls and then smashes his lips to mine, encircling my lower half with his arms as he lifts me and I wrap my legs around his waist. His legs carry us into my house, but he stops to kick the front door shut behind him. Light coming through the window from outside casts a soft glow in the room, illuminating it just enough so we can find our way as Grant leads me to the couch, sitting down with me still wrapped around him.

He grabs a handful of my ass while I grind on him, moaning as I feel his hardness beneath me. He’s so big—strong, powerful arms, thick legs, massive shoulders, and height that towers over me. Being in his arms makes me feel safe. I’m so small compared to him, but somehow we fit together perfectly—and I hope that also extends to him fitting inside of me as well.
